The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported today that new details in the investigation of Betty Knight focused on a neighbor.

The St. Louis County police report was reviewed Wednesday by the Post-Dispatch and revealed new details about the investigation.

According to the Post-Dispatch it says, in part, “Through a variety of investigative means, the residents at each of the homes had been excluded from the investigation with the sole exception of Raymond Bodicky…”

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Teresa Bomkamp took the case under advisement last summer, citing the need for more evidence to file charges.

The gun that killed Knight has never been found.

Knight’s husband, Dale Knight, 86, and children filed a civil suit Jan. 5, accusing Bodicky of negligence.

Dale Knight was sitting beside his wife when a .22-caliber bullet struck her neck about 3:50 p.m. June 26.

Their home is in the 5000 block of Crosswood Drive, in the Sandalwood subdivision in Oakville, Missouri.
