Oakville House Representative Marsha Haefner has withdrawn from her Missouri Senate campaign against incumbent Scott Sifton.
“After prayerful consideration and discussions with family, friends and supporters, I have decided that I can most effectively advocate for our community by continuing to serve in the Missouri House of Representatives” Haefner said in a statement released today. “I appreciate the overwhelming support and encouragement of so many and I look forward to continuing to serve the community I care so much about.”
Haefner announced she was running for the Missouri Senate after current Oakville State Senator Scott Sifton decided to run for Attorney General.
Sifton’s withdrawal from the Attorney Generals race has had a big impact on South County politics causing both Vickie Englund and Hafner to seek Missouri House seats instead of running against Sifton in 2016.
